With traditional doors and plenty of heating power, it becomes both the main heat source and the centerpiece of the room. Have the stove installed by a qualified professional and follow the installation manual and local building codes. Detailed front, side and top drawings with clearance diagrams are shown below to help you plan the space.

With up to 56,000 BTUs, it warms approximately 1,300 to 2,800 sq. ft. Load 20-inch logs into the 3.2 cu. ft. firebox and enjoy up to 14 hours of steady heat between refills. Vermont Castings built the original Defiant more than four decades ago, and one of those early parlor stoves now belongs to the Smithsonian collection. The current version combines that classic design with thermostatic combustion control and up to 84% efficiency (LHV). Its furniture-quality finish means the stove looks just as good on a mild autumn evening as it does in the depths of winter.

Key Features

Bordeaux Enamel: Glossy wine-red porcelain enamel that resists fading

Traditional Doors: Classic door design in the Defiant style

Top Loading: Load wood from the top for more capacity and less smoke in the room

Swing-Out Ash Pan: Remove ashes cleanly, even when the stove is hot

Thermostatic Air Control: Keeps heat output even and stretches burn times

Cast Iron Griddle Top: A handy cooking surface for the stovetop chef

Reversible Flue Collar: Top or rear venting for flexible installation

Large Firebox: 3.2 cu. ft. capacity with 20-inch log length

What's Included

Vermont Castings Defiant cast iron wood stove (Bordeaux)

Traditional cast iron doors

Cast iron griddle top

Swing-out ash pan with handled cover

Reversible flue collar (top or rear vent)

Specifications
<table style="border-collapse: collapse;
