An outdoor fireplace hood serves two jobs at once - it shields the firebox opening and controls above it from direct weather exposure, and it gives the finished installation a more deliberate, finished silhouette than an open firebox alone. Because outdoor fireplaces are, by definition, exposed to the weather in a way an indoor installation never is, the hood is one of the components most worth adding wherever the budget allows, particularly on installations without a covered patio roof above them.

The HOOD42ODSL is priced as a standalone factory part, separate from any fireplace it is ordered with, and it is listed as fitting VRE3242 and VRE4242 Gas Fireplaces. A hood mounts directly to the top of the fireplace housing using the fixings supplied with the kit, and does not require any modification to the firebox, gas supply or venting beneath it. Because a hood is a purely protective and cosmetic addition, it can be added at the time of installation or fitted later, at any point after the fireplace itself is already in place. On any outdoor installation without an overhead roof or covered structure, a hood is worth treating as a near-essential accessory rather than an optional extra, given how much weather exposure an open firebox otherwise sees.

What's Included

One Superior HOOD42ODSL - 42" Outdoor Hood Kit, Brushed Stainless

Material #F4129, supplied in the manufacturer's packaging

Key Features

Genuine Superior factory hood

Specification

Model #

HOOD42ODSL

Material #

F4129

Description

42" Outdoor Hood Kit, Brushed Stainless

Product Type

Fireplace Hood

Price Book Section

Deluxe Hood

Brand

Superior

https://usfireplaceshop.com/products/superior-42-outdoor-kit-brushed-stainless-hood-for-vre3242-and-vre4242-gas-fireplaces
